Our Research

 

The research activity in our group encompasses two broad areas: (a) transition metal organometallic chemistry and (b) smart/ functional materials.

In the field of Organometallics, we design and develop novel transition metal complexes to explore the challenges of small (unactivated) molecule functionalization toward fine chemicals, fuel, and energy via the activation of strong C-H, N-H, O-H, C-O, C=C, C=N bonds.

In the Materials area, we explore the various smart and switchable molecules/materials aiming toward applications in molecular information processing, molecular switch, sensors, and energy research.
